A book authored on ‘Mustalah al Hadeeth | The Terminologies of Hadeeth’, that became widely known and accepted. It became a cause for the spread of the knowledge of Hadeeth after it was fading, a cause for the strengthening of the knowledge of Hadeeth after its weakness, a cause for students to turn to and study it after it was neglected.
The author states in his introduction: ‘Indeed the knowledge of Hadeeth is from the most virtuous of virtuous knowledge, the most beneficial of beneficial knowledge…’
He summarized the books of al Khateeb al Baghdaadee and added benefits from other books, for this reason, scholars and students of knowledge turned to this book since its appearance, and continued to do so until the book became as al Haafidh ibn Hajar stated: ‘The amount books written in summarizing it, turning it into poetry, critically analyzing it, opposing or supporting it cannot be determined due to their great number.’
Al Haafidh al ‘Iraaqee stated: ‘Indeed the best book authored by the people of Hadeeth in the topic of Mustalah al Hadeeth is this book by ibnus Salaah.’
