Kutub Hathara minha al ‘Ulamaa.
2 volumes, approximately 400 pages each.
The author collects 410 titles of books that the scholars have warned against past and present in various sciences. He wrote an introduction detailing a number of issues, amongst them; the permissibility of refuting those who contradict the truth, warning against a book does not necessitate a warning or a criticism of its author, the permissible and impermissible types of knowledge, books that their own authors retracted form, the ruling of selling books of misguidance, the impermissibility of selling books of philosophy, destroying the books of the people of desires, the impermissibility of buying or selling the books of the people of innovations, the issue of reading the books of the people of innovations, amongst other topics.
Under the appropriate chapters, he then lists the books that the scholars warned against specifically, stating who warned against them and why.
Introduction by: Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd may Allaah have mercy upon him.
Ash Shaykh al ‘Allaamah Hammaad al Ansaari stated:
“Indeed the book ‘Kutub Hadharah minha al ‘Ulamaa’ by Mashoor Hasan al Urduni is a dangerous book. It is like an encyclopedia for the innovators, a door for the heedless and blind followers of the innovators to find out which books refute Ahlus Sunnah and where to find them. If the author only mentioned each book and an example of what it consists of so that the book can be abandoned. Most people today do not know which references to return to for their innovations and superstitions, but with this book, they would know which references to return to and this is a dangerous affair.

Translators note: The book will be removed from the online references section, however it will still be made use of to warn against the books of the people of innovations and what the scholars say about them according to the methodology that Shaykh Hammaad - may Allah have mercy upon him - clarified. “
It is ironic that a book entitled ‘Books the Scholars Warned Against’ is now included amongst the books the scholars warned against.
